The Masonic Inn is located in an enviable main road trading position in the centre of the busy and well established shopping area of “Stoke Village”, serving a popular residential and commercial area of Plymouth. There are a variety of trades represented nearby and these include a number of additional pubs, an Indian restaurant, Co-op supermarket, bakery, florist, takeaways, hair and beauty salons etc. The shopping parade is serviced by a free public car park which is only a short walk from the pub.
Plymouth, with a population of over 250,000 is the largest city in the West Country. Largely rebuilt since World War II it is now a thriving industrial and commercial centre and is still one of the Royal Navy's principal base and warship repair dockyards. The city has excellent educational, recreational and entertainment facilities and access to the rest of the country is gained by road via the A38/M5 motorway and by rail. Europe is also accessible by the car/passenger ferry which is operated from its terminal at Millbay Docks.
The premises are mid-terraced, believed to have been built in the late 1800s and appear to be of traditional construction with rendered and painted elevations under a mainly pitched slate roof together with a flat roof area to the rear. The premises briefly comprise a traditional bar area with servery, cellar, customer toilets and small external trade patio/smoking area to the ground floor. To the upper floors there is a large 3-4 bedroom flat with kitchen, lounge and bathroom. This is in need of modernisation but would provide large and spacious accommodation, or could be let out generating a healthy rental income. The pub has been subject to a commercial lease and has been let for the last 20 years to the same tenant who, decided in May this year to close the pub and retire. The pub could be operated by owner occupiers or let out once more to produce a healthy rental income. An early viewing appointment is strongly recommended to appreciate the location and future potential of the unit.
