Kapadoyka occupies an enviable trading position just off Southside Street in the heart of Plymouth’s historic harbourside Barbican area. The area is steeped in history and tradition, being the departure point of the Pilgrim Fathers to North America. The ancient buildings and narrow cobbled streets have a magical atmosphere, and this area has become a favourite haunt for tourists and foreign visitors, as well as catering for local people all year round. Indeed, the Barbican is a much favoured shopping area and has a variety of chandlers, antiques and gift shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. Consequently, the business enjoys a consistent and loyal year round trade.
Plymouth, with a population of over 250,000 is the largest city in the West Country. Largely rebuilt since World War II it is now a thriving industrial and commercial centre and is still one of the Royal Navy's principal base and warship repair dockyards. The city has excellent educational, recreational and entertainment facilities and access to the rest of the country is gained by road via the A38/M5 motorway and by rail. Europe is also accessible by the car/passenger ferry which is operated from its terminal at Millbay Docks.
The premises are believed to date back to the 16th Century and appear to be constructed of stone, with part stone and part painted rendered elevations under a pitched slate roof. The premises have immense charm and character throughout and briefly comprise a bar/reception area with kitchen at ground floor level together with a delightful restaurant and customer toilets to the first floor plus a lower ground basement store/freezer area. The interior has a wealth of character with beamed ceilings, open fireplaces and exposed stone walls, and an early viewing appointment is strongly recommended to fully appreciate the appeal and location of this delightful catering concern.
